A young girl wearing a face mask uses a tablet to study anatomy at home, highlighting pandemic learning.

Will my child be in front of the screen all day?

    Definitely not.

    And this is very intentional.

We want to use technology to our advantage, not have children sitting in front of a screen all day.

That’s why our classes are fully timetabled.

    They’re not random.

Students know exactly when they need to be on their laptop, and when they don’t.

Lessons are carefully structured in length.

Each class runs in 40-minute periods.

And throughout the day, there are regular breaks built into the timetable.

Those breaks are there so students can step away from the screen.

    Move around.

    Go outside.

    Rest their eyes.

And what’s interesting is that many of our students tell us that because they’re studying from home, they actually get more freedom during the school day.

If they have a break, they can go for a walk.

    Go to the park.

    Get fresh air.

Something that simply isn’t possible in most mainstream schools.

Another important factor is classroom disruption.

In traditional classrooms, a significant amount of time is lost managing behaviour and interruptions.

In an online setting, that disruption is minimal.

    Classes are focused.

    Engaged.

    Personalised.

And because less time is wasted, teaching time is used far more efficiently.

That allows us to cover the same — or more — content in a shorter, more focused way.

So while all lessons are live and online, the day is intentionally designed with space in between.

    Long enough breaks.

    Time away from screens.

    Time to move.

    Time to reset.

All of this helps protect students from screen fatigue, supports focus, and creates a healthier learning rhythm throughout the day.
