Is Lady Evelyn a proper school?

Yes. Lady Evelyn Independent School is a fully fledged online British school.

What that means is that we teach the full British curriculum, live online, through timetabled classes that run in real time.

We teach from Year 1 all the way up to Year 13.

That includes GCSEs, A-Levels, and everything in between.

We also have student clubs and student organisations, just like a traditional school.

So this is not a course.

And it’s not a tutoring programme.

It is a full online school.

Lady Evelyn is actually the first online school teaching the British curriculum within an Islamic ethos.

    All classes are live.

Our teachers are UK-based, predominantly British, and qualified in their fields.

Every teacher has at least a PGCE or a minimum of two years’ classroom experience — often much more.

For example, in primary, one teacher has eight years of experience, another has over twenty and specialises in primary teaching and maths.

So alhamdulillah, the teaching staff are very highly qualified.

The qualifications students graduate with are IGCSEs and A-Levels.

These are issued directly by recognised exam boards, such as Edexcel and CIE.

Because of that, they are accepted globally.

As long as students achieve the results, the qualifications are fully recognised.

And we’ve already seen that in practice.

We’ve had students progress to university pathways successfully.

For example, the University of London.

    Computer science.

    Law.

    Medicine.

These are just a few examples off the top of my head, but there are many students who have gone on to prestigious universities in the UK and across the world.

So yes — these qualifications are real and recognised.

In terms of how we teach, we use a hybrid system.

We looked closely at the education system and recognised that much of it is outdated.

So we asked a simple question.

How do we make this fit for the modern world?

    What we concluded was this.

    Homeschooling has huge benefits.

    Flexibility.

    Your Islamic values.

    Tarbiyah.

A stronger bond with your child.

    No school runs.

    No bullying.

    A comfortable and safe environment.

But homeschooling can also come with challenges.

    Lack of structure.

    Lack of organisation.

Not knowing where a child stands academically.

    Falling behind peers.

    Minimal social interaction.

So we wanted to remove those downsides.

And combine the strengths of homeschooling with the strengths of mainstream and private schools.

    That means live, timetabled lessons.

    Clear structure.

    Real-time classes.

A full school day, for example from 8am to 4:30pm UK time (depending on the school year, Primary tend to finish at 12pm) with breaks in between.

    Breaks.

    Homework.

    Assignments.

    Interaction.

So students get the structure and accountability of a traditional school, with the flexibility of homeschooling.

They can study from anywhere in the world.

    From home.

And because the classes are live, students can interact with teachers in real time.

At the same time, every lesson is recorded.

That means if you travel, if you visit family, if life happens, the school goes with you.

And students can always go back and rewatch lessons if they need to.

So they truly get the best of both worlds.

And yes — this is a proper, fully qualified school.
